A Poem about COVID-19

This is a poem I wrote 2years ago during the covid pandemic.

Title : Gratitude

For the Cup that didn't overflow
the disaster;
the heat that left us cold.
For life;
Keeping it together,
Mind, staying sane, whole.

For a world that didn't burn in fire;
Ravaged by hunger.
For the sandstorm,
For the wave that beat us all,
For chaos and uprisings.

For those that lost jobs,
The forgotten orphans,
For the needy that got help,
For the dead that didn't see it coming;
Those that left fulfilled,
And those that left with regrets.

Gratitude,
For this monster and it's scourge,
For surely,
It grows old,
To die off.
