Weeding of My Maize Plant | My Maize Gardening Challenge(#mc2022)

Hello Hivers...
Welcome to my Blog!!

Weeds are unwanted plant that grow on their own accord and compete for sunlight and nutrient with other crops. Weed if not well managed can cause damages to our maize plant by limiting the nutrient uptake of our maize plant and also competing for sunlight which aids in photosynthesis.

Weeding can be done through several means like

  • chemical weeding; this is the application of chemicals to kill the weed.
  • physical weeding; this is the use of physical means to get rid of the weeds example are using of hoes, cutlas, hand pulling etc.

For my maize I will employ the physical method to remove the weeds. I prefer the hand pulling method as this is ideal for me. Using of hoe I can mistakenly cut off the maize plant if not properly done and I'm really not use to making use of the hoe.

And it is also ideal to weed when it hasn't outgrown our maize plant, it not it will affect it's growth rate.

After weeding I made sure to remove the residue of the weed and throw them far ways..

This is really and interesting challenge and I'm sure you would want to be a part of.
