Lex Fridman, the awesome youtuber

I think most of us, if not everyone has watched something on YouTube. I see YouTube as an entire world of its own.

There is almost nothing you can't find there. From cooking, to coding and even academics, you can learn many things from YouTube. There also the entertainment part. People go to YouTube just watch videos and be entertained.

Initially, I wasn't into YouTube, but in recent years, YouTube has turn out to be a frequent place for me. I find myself there a lot. One of the reason for this is my favorite YouTuber. His name is Lex Fridman, and he hosts the Lex Fridman podcast.

Lex Fridman is an American who works at MIT. He is a computer scientist and a researcher. He has a lot of passion for artificial intelligence, robotics and has done several research on those topics.

Lex Fridman has interviewed a lot of prominent figures in his podcast. Many of whom are giants in the tech industry, health industry, and several other industries. He has interviewed some of the richest men on earth.

One notable person he has interviewed is Elon Musk.

Elon Musk has made several appearance on the show and they have all been mind stimulating conversations. When two intelligent men are engaged in a conversation, it is always fascinating. During his last podcast with Elon Musk, they discussed interesting topics like xAI (Grok); aliens; video games; human nature; AI, it's regulation and if it should be open sourced; the X algorithm, politics, the Optimus Robot and Tesla auto pilot.

In other discussions with Elon Musk, they've also discussed spaceX, mars, cryptocurrency, Neural network and Tesla full self driving. These are all topics that I find really intriguing, and the awesome thing is that they are being discussed by two people I hold in high esteem.

Like I mentioned earlier, Lex Fridman has interviewed people from several fields. He has had an interview with Jeff Bezos where they talked about space exploration, rocket engineering, Amazon, blue origin and physics. It was a really inspiring discussion.

Sam Altman, the CEO of openAI has also featured in his podcast. In this interview, they discussed GPT-5, openAI, sora and even AGI.

Lex Fridman has had several discussions with:

  • Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta

  • Walter Isaacson, who has written biographies on Elon Musk, Da Vinci, Steve Jobs, Einstein and several others

  • Neri Oxman, a scientist and engineer working on synthetic biology, computational design as well as digital fabrication.

  • Andrew Huberman, a neuroscientist.

  • Neil Gershenfield, with whom he dicussed self-replicating robots

  • Robert Playter, the CEO of Boston Dynamics, with whom he discussed humanoid and legged robots.

The list goes on and on. You can see that he has invited so many bright minds on his podcast. So rest assured, his podcasts are always educative. I find them inspiring and mind boggling.

I don't know how Lex Fridman does it, but he discusses pertinent issues and topics with his guests. Topics that affect human life and would change the course of history. Personally, I have learnt so much from his podcast on YouTube.

My weeks aren't complete without watching his podcast. I always look forward to it. I am totally grateful that I came across Lex Fridman's YouTube channel.
