Hive dApps: My favourite

I got introduced into Hive by a very close friend of mine about six months ago, and I remember my onboarder suggesting different frontends for me to sign up with. The concept of different frontends all leading to one Blockchain, still foreign to me. I found it hard signing up with some others but the Ecency dApp was the easiest for me to sign up with. Ever since, that has been my favourite dApp on Hive. I've tried using other dApps when required but I still come back to using Ecency to access the Hive Blockchain. The Hive Blockchain can be accessed using different frontends or dApps. There is the peakd, ecency, dbuzz, inleo and many others. And all these dApps have their perks. It all depends on whichever the user finds suitable.

Why is Ecency my favourite dApp?

The Ecency frontend which I've been more familiar with ever since I joined Hive has been my go to frontend. Its very user-friendly and is visually appealing to the users. I sometimes get confused easily when I have to do something new on my own without supervision or physical assistance whatsoever. But the Ecency dApp is something I hardly find myself seeking assistance when in use as the interface is not clustered.

Although I haven't tried the Ecency app yet because my phone tends to format frequently on its own and leads to me loosing important data, I have been accessing it through chrome and it's been working pretty well for me. I get to choose what appears on my feed.

There's also the Ecency points which you get everytime you vote, comment, post, reblog and whatever action you can think of performing using the frontend. You even get points for heartbeat. What are these heartbeats? This means that you get points for every entry and clicking on the frontend. And, these points can be used to boost and promote your posts, which can earn you more upvotes if it aligns with the Ecency curation guidelines.

Recently, the Conversations tab was introduced. This means you can now chat privately with other users on the app. No more going through other social media platforms just to have private conversations. I haven't really gotten to checking out this feature but I think it'll be awesome.

There are other very nice dApps on Hive which like I said before, depends on the users preference. There's the Inleo frontend where you can get curated just by posting using the frontend. There's also the peakd frontend which shows you the total number of words a post entails and the ability to convert text to speech. There's also dbuzz which can be used for making very short posts. The idea of having all these dApps for users to choose the one that suits them best is really amazing.

What will you do if that particular tool or service vanishes suddenly?

I'll be forced to become more regular in using other frontends. But that isn't something I wish for the Ecency dApp. I don't wish for it to vanish but rather, for it to stay and for other users to find it useful just like I did.
I didn't know I'll be writing this today. I had an entirely different idea on what to write today but as I was scrolling through my feed, I came across a post from someone. I got interested, checked out the prompt and decided to hop in.
