Happy Holi to all my Indian Friends and a Happy Women's Day to all the Women of Hive

First of all, I will like to wish all the Ladies of Hive a very Happy Women's Day and may you all always stand in your Power being who you are. The Love, Grace, Beauty, Wisdom, Power, Compassion all that defines a woman, may this power always shine bright on you.

Yesterday we celebrated Holi in my City. The Festival of colors, they are the colors of happiness and joy, the colors of Love and Hope. The festival is celebrated as a significance of victory of the good over the evil. The night before the Holi, there is a ritual where a pyre is set up and offerings are made into the pyre. It means that the evil is destroyed in this fire and the good is restored. On the Holi day people play with colors and celebrate Holi. The colors signify the welcome of the new beginnings and the spring season.

Since I am in India right now, I made it a point to celebrate Holi with my friends, there is no joy like this one. This is what I enjoy about community living. In their society they had a Holi event planned. Almost in all the societies there was something or the other planned. There was a whole day plan, where they had arranged for an area where people could play with colors and there was a rain dance set up. There was breakfast and Lunch arrangement also done.

I reached a little late as it was a long travel for me, but being a holiday, the roads were empty, so I reached fast, else the same road would take me double the time on a normal working day. On Holi day people prefer to be indoors, as on the streets people can throw colors at you.

As soon as I reached there, my friends put color on me and then it was my turn to get back on them :-)

My friend offered me Bhang. Bhang is a preparation made from the leaves of the cannabis plant and it's added in milk and had. It gives a kick. I had a few sips and gave it away. Did not want to have much as I had to travel back home alone again and wanted to be in my full senses :-)

Had an amazing time, whole morning we were dancing to the beats of the DJ, playing with colors. The place was vibrant and full of energy. By night time I was feeling exhausted and just crashed :-)
