Greetings to all cat-lovers. This is my 1st post to this community and I hope you dont let us go away without getting a few likes and upvotes :P

Actually, I shaped this post for Qurator's Monday Missions. This week prompt was: 'Homemade Cat Toys'; check it, maybe you'd be intrested to join the fun.

Almost simultaneously I was: a) alerted by @bulldog-joy that I should not show my back to the challenge this time, and b) I remembered that I have a beautiful little photo-session dedicated to exactly this subject.

So here we go.

Let me tell you this story from afar! In 2009, we sailed on a weekly trip to the Ladoga skerries (islands). One of my favorite activities is to explore the coastal rocks (or sand) and find things that the sea (or water) gives back, throws them onto the shore. And by that time, during one of our stops, the captain specifically asked us (those who would wish) to look for pieces of foam (as a free material for repairing fishing nets). Here I am talking about the rigid foam from which the net floats are made, not lightweight packaging foam. On that island, the coastal rocks were such that everything got stuck in them perfectly, and we found many great pieces of foam for the captain ... and in the photo above I photographed my other finds, besides foam fishing floats: a discarded viper snake skin, a lost hook on big fish (like trout), and very beautiful sticks eaten by bugs and whitened by waves ...

I really liked one of the pieces of Styrofoam, and kept it for myself - just like that, without a specific second thought :). Plus it was lightweight and didn't weigh much in my backpack. And when I returned home ...

The cat really liked this toy. Why? I don't know, but definitely not the smell ... Perhaps a rustling sound? Perhaps the resistance - a light float, nevertheless had great hardness, elasticity, it was unyielding, and it was very easy to grab it with claws.

Ok, thank you for coming to my post and watching this white lady's younger days pictures. She is now 15+ and still lives with us, and illuminates our gray everyday life with her radiance.
