En casa tenemos desde unos meses dos lindas conejas grandes que el abuelo le regaló a mis hijas, una para cada una, y nuestra Mariposa tuvo a sus primeros hijos. Es la primera vez que tengo que cuidar de conejos y es la primera vez que veo como son recién nacidos. En verdad estaba sorprendida porque incluso me daban una sensación rara, verlos así tan pequeños y sin pelos, me parecían unas pequeñas ratas. En total dió a luz 6 conejitos. Esta foto es de dos días después de haber nacido.
At home we have for a few months two beautiful big rabbits that my grandfather gave to my daughters, one for each one, and our Mariposa had her first children. It is the first time that I have to take care of rabbits and it is the first time that I see how they are newborns. I was really surprised because they even gave me a strange feeling, seeing them so small and hairless, they seemed like little rats. In total she gave birth to 6 bunnies. This photo is from two days after they were born.
En un abrir y cerrar de ojos ya tienen pelos y van tomando forma. Se notan sus colores y manchas, sus caritas se alargan un poco y los ves temblorosos como todo recién nacido. Esta foto es a los 6 días de nacidos.
In the blink of an eye they already have hairs and are taking shape. Their colors and spots are noticeable, their faces elongate a bit and you see them trembling like all newborns. This photo is 6 days old.
Y a los 8 días ya abrieron sus ojos, se ven hermosos y tiernos. Parecen pequeñas bolitas de algodón que provoca tenerlos entre tus manos pero me han dicho que no debemos tocarlos mucho porque su madre después los puede rechazar y no amamantar. Solo los tomo para la foto, ellos están en la jaula con su mamá pero en un cajón que su mamá lleno de pelos para tenerlos en un nido. En su nido duermen juntos y acurrucados, necesitan mucho calor.
And after 8 days they already opened their eyes, they look beautiful and tender. They look like little cotton balls that causes them to be held in your hands but I have been told that we should not touch them a lot because their mother may later reject them and not breastfeed. I only take them for the photo, they are in the cage with their mother but in a drawer that their mother full of hairs to have in a nest. In their nest they sleep together and huddled, they need a lot of heat.
Y a los 14 días ya se vuelven más juguetones y tratan de explorar todo a su alrededor. Es como mirar pequeños cachorros de perro porque se suben unos encima de otros, se huelen entre si y empiezan a rascarse las orejitas. Pegan saltos y están caminando por todo su nido, poco buscan estar menos rodeados de pelos.
And at 14 days they become more playful and try to explore everything around them. It is like looking at little dog puppies because they climb on top of each other, sniff each other and start scratching their ears. They jump and are walking all over their nest, little they seek to be less surrounded by hair.
Se pueden ver en su nido pero mirando y tratando de entender lo que pasa fuera. Esta foto me costó porque su mamá no me dejaba meter mis manos, ella normalmente me deja acariciarla pero no quería que le tomara fotos ese día.

Hoy cumplen 20 días mis pequeños y tiernos copitos de algodón. Hoy los sacamos por primera vez y aunque no lo crean son muy difíciles de atrapar porque saltan mucho y hay que tener cuidado. Su mamá no estaba molesta esta vez, nos dejó acariciarlos por unos minutos. También pudimos ver qué son diferentes solo 2 y los otros 4 parecen trillizos. Tenemos 4 conejitos blancos con manchas marrones por todo su cuerpo como este de la siguiente foto.
Today my little and tender cotton swabs are 20 days old. Hay una ternurita blanca en casi su totalidad pero con las orejitas manchadas y se ve súper precioso. Es mi favorito porque es el más diferente y único. Por los momentos se siguen alimentando de su mamá pero en los próximos 10 días ya deben comer algunas hierbas o vegetales. Normalmente les coloco dos veces al día un alimento especial para el conejo que venden en comercios cercanos y cuesta 1$ por cada 2 kilos pero por ahora los pequeños no lo comen.
There is a little white tenderness almost entirely but with spotted ears and it looks super precious. It is my favorite because it is the most different and unique. At the moment they continue to feed on their mother but in the next 10 days they should already eat some herbs or vegetables. Normally I give them a special rabbit food twice a day that they sell in nearby shops and it costs $ 1 for every 2 kilos but for now the little ones don't eat it.
Y el color favorito de mis hijas es este conejo gris, aún no sabemos si son hembras o machos porque están muy pequeños y la verdad no tengo ni idea de cómo diferenciarlos pero será algo que aprenderé pronto ya que mi intención es vender estos pequeños al cumplir 30 días. Cada conejo macho de 30 días tiene un valor de 5$ y la hembra de igual tiempo cuesta 7$, así que mi intención es sacar provecho y criar mis animales para la venta.
And the favorite color of my daughters is this gray rabbit, we still do not know if they are female or male because they are very small and the truth is I have no idea how to differentiate them but it will be something that I will learn soon since my intention is to sell these little ones when I meet 30 days. Each 30-day-old male rabbit has a value of $ 5 and the female of the same time costs $ 7, so my intention is to take advantage and raise my animals for sale.
