Hello! beautiful and radiant people of HIVE
I hope you are super well today.

Today I want to tell you the story of a being that is extremely important to me. I also want to talk to you about the importance of visiting the animals that you give away since it may happen that you give the animal with the best faith, thinking that the person who is going to adopt it will take good care of it and finally it is not like that.
That is what happened with my baby Jojo and today I will share his story.

Last year we realized that Mari Cori, the queen of the house (I already told you about her in a previous post, if you like to see it, click here) was pregnant. We do not know why her belly shows, it is when there are only a few weeks before she gives birth and this time it was not the exception of her.
On September 7, 2020, Jojo and his little brothers are born, this was one of those precious litters of 4 kittens. Jojo since he was born he looked like a kitten that was not very given to others, and he always had a very serious face, he was also the largest of his litter, definitely a beautiful cat.

One day a friend of the family arrives and expresses her desire to adopt one of the kittens, we knew her and we thought that she would take good care of him since she is not the first cat to adopt and she usually takes care of them, so we delivered it confident that it would be in good hands.
As time went by we went to visit Jojo, when we got to his house he was eating but his appearance was already neglected, he was dirty, which is not normal in cats unless they are sick. We asked him why he was in these conditions to which he replied that it was because he hunted many cockroaches in the yard, we did not continue insisting but he felt that something was not right.
The following week, I was unable to visit Jojo for work, but my concern was so great that I asked my mom to come see him.
When my mother returned from visiting Jojo, she told me that she saw the kitten worse, he was more neglected and that he was no longer eating, so the next day I went to visit him and indeed he was in very bad condition, he had disheveled hair, he was his bones and gums were very pale, he staggered as he walked and did not stay awake for long.
I did not hesitate twice to tell the lady that I would take it to which she quickly agreed since she was aware of the bad state in which the feline was.

When taking him to the vet she told us to deworm him again since they probably did not deworm him correctly and we did. The first time I put food on him, I realized that he didn't feel like eating so I had to liquefy the food and give it to him little by little with a syringe, and so he slowly recovered.

After a few days, Jojo looked more animated, but, the malnutrition was very great and it took several weeks to grab a muscle and to stop feeling the bones.
When he was more recovered he hunted many little bugs and played a lot, it was a great emotion for me to see how happy he was.

One day we decided to take him to my mother-in-law's house since she had adopted one of Jojo's little brothers and we wanted them to share a while, there was a huge difference in size, they did not seem from the same litter, it was incredible to see how Jojo went from being the largest of the litter to be so small in front of his little brother.
You could say that today about 3 or 4 months after going to look for him in that house where he was close to his death, Jojo has recovered from his malnutrition and is almost the size of his brother, he is a very happy kitten that He brings me so much happiness, he has become the prince of the house.

And yes, I kept it, 😅 I could not give it away again thinking that he would suffer again, it is not fair for this beautiful animal.
This is Jojo's story and the importance of why you should visit or keep track of the animals we give up for adoption, at least for the first few months.

And I couldn't be happier to have this little prince by my side, even though they say that cats are very independent and not very affectionate Jojo is the opposite, he is super loving and fills me with tenderness every day 💕
