Hoy les presentaré a Jichi, un hermoso pavo doméstico.
Today I will introduce Jichi a beautiful domestic turkey.
Este es el que gobierna la manada por su gran tamaño y su hermoso plumaje negro, blanco, marrón y gris. Sus patas son un poco cortas y robustas y escasean las plumas en la zona del cuello y cabeza, en esta zona se refleja una piel carnosa de color rojizo o azulado. Y a pesar de que estos animales son domésticos, suelen tener un mal carácter, sobre todo cuando tienen que aparearse, ya que el macho busca llamar la atención de las hembras inflando su plumaje y formando un abanico con una hermosa cola.
This is the one that rules the herd for its large size and its beautiful black, white, brown and gray plumage. Its legs are a bit short and robust and feathers are scarce in the neck and head area, in this area a fleshy reddish or bluish skin is reflected. And despite the fact that these animals are domestic, they tend to have a bad character, especially when they have to mate, since the male seeks to attract the attention of the females by inflating his plumage and forming a fan with a beautiful tail.
Jichi causa mucha admiración en las personas debido a su gran tamaño y hermoso plumaje, pero solo lo admiran de lejos bebido a su postura imponente las personas que visitan mi granja se sienten intimidados por su carácter. Pero igual mi querido jichi ya es parte de la familia.
Jichi causes a lot of admiration in people due to his large size and beautiful plumage, but he is only admired from afar by his imposing posture and people who visit my farm are intimidated by his character. But still my dear jichi is already part of the family.
En mi tiempo libre quise investigar un poco a cerca de esta ave y quiero compartirles que estos pavos fueron una selección artificial por el ser humano durante dos mil años. Y el proceso de domesticación fue obra de los pueblos indígenas de las regiones centrales de México.
In my spare time I wanted to do some research on this bird and I want to share with you that these turkeys were an artificial selection by humans for two thousand years. And the domestication process was the work of the indigenous peoples of the central regions of Mexico.
