Simply Molly ~ Today Is Molly's Day

It's Time For A Molly Post ..

Molly has been in our family for over 13 years. I remember the day we rescued her from a box full of other dogs. I remember her quiet soul as she was being trampled on by the other breeds of dogs rushing over to the edge to greet us. We immediately noticed her and grabbed her out of the box. We placed her on the floor and she ran around like this was the first time she smelled and tasted freedom.

I’ll never forget that day, because it was probably the best day of her life. I say it was the best day of her life because we did not put her back in that box. Instead we purchased her at whatever price they were asking. We fell in love with her, and took her home with us that day. It was a happy day, and one of the best days of our lives as well.

At first Pepper wasn't sure who this new girl was, but he soon grew to Love her beyond words

Molly comes with a lot of baggage. She’s a high maintenance kind of gal. She has allergies to the extreme (she’s allergic to humans of all things), Addison’s disease (her adrenal glands no longer function), a heart murmur, and suffers from something called syncope (where she passes out because her heart stops beating). oh she has a lovely package in the light of day, but we wouldn’t trade it for the world. We know all her ins and outs, everything she needs to survive, and are willing and able to pay for and take care of her in whatever capacity she needs.

We love our Molly!!!

I was thinking that I haven’t really written a Molly post in quite a while. She deserves her own post. Why not today!? Molly is going to have her own post today.

One of Molly‘s favorite past times is heading out into the yard, finding a comfy spot in the lawn, and resting her bones for a while. Molly is way past the stage of running after balls or chasing down rabbits, Although she was never ever into these types of activities. Not because she’s not an active dog, but rather because she’s scared of everything. LOL.

Just a few days ago, when the temperatures had dipped down to bearable temperatures and it felt more like autumn, Molly and I hung out in the backyard for a while. I rattled off several pictures which I will show you below.

She started all sitting in the backyard staring at the neighbors house, enjoying the breeze in her face. She eventually laid down in the grass closing her eyes gently as the sound of birds chirped her to sleep. I caught her head dip down and almost hit the ground before she woke her self up. It was nice to see her enjoying the weather and her moments in the sun. It’s times like these that make me think and ponder on how simple life really is. Life really is as simple as enjoying it in the moment. I suppose we can learn a lot from our furbabies.

Without further delay, here are those pictures I took and no particular order. You won’t find any crazy dog photos here, only a little girl enjoying her time.

Molly simply being Molly.

After spending a good bit of time in the backyard, watching the neighbors, sniffing the air, gently closing our eyes and enjoying the breeze, it was time to go in.

I got up and reached down to pet her and rub her under the chin. I told her it’s time to go in and get something to eat. I would like to say she hesitated for a moment, but that did not happen.

She ran as fast as she could inside knowing her second favorite thing awaits her …

FOOD!

“After all," Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”
