Albinism! How should we view it

People are being created with different skin color, and all of this skin color are beautiful, but there is a particular skin color that has caused hatred in different countries and that is Albinism

What is albinism?

This is a serious condition that causes lack or low pigmentation in the skin, hair and eyes, most people with this condition often have vision problem.
People suffering from this problem are known as Albinos

In some country people with this condition are treated with less or no respect because people of the land have different view about them, some say they are evil, some say they are caused while some think that people with this condition are totally useless.
Sadly people with this condition are not the cause of this problem, and it makes them sad when people view them as outcast in their own community.

Lets look into what causes this condition.

Causes of Albinism

Albinism is manly caused by the difficency of tyrosinase enzyme in the body and this affects the gene.

Albinism is caused by some changes in the gene that affect the amount of Melanin the body should produce there reducing pigmentation of the skin, eyes and hair.
Albinism is not contagious but just a condition inherited from ones parents or family members during childbirth.

This condition affects every race, tribe and language.
Its a very serious condition because people with such condition are prone to skin cancer and other skin disease.

Types of Albinism

Oculocutaneous albinism
This type of albinism makes one have extreme coloured hair, eyes and skin, there are subtypes of Oculocutaneous albinism which affects different genes of the body.

Ocular albinism
This is a mild type of Albinism, people who experience this condition most likely have blue eyes or any color of eyes, and they have normal skin and hair color, this occurs when the x chromosome are affected and the mother passes to the child during pregnancy.

Are there complications?

Yes there are some complications of Albinism starting from the eyes to the skin.

Skin complications
People with albinism are prone to sunburn and skin cancer,
They are very sensitive to light and 🌞 sun making it very difficult un their daily living.
Due to lack of pigmentation albinos easily contact a type of cancer known as melanoma.

Eyes complications
Albinos always find it difficult to cope with their sight, some who are critical never comes out during sun shine, they always have blured vision and seeks medical attention from opticians.

Social and emotional challenges
Like i wrote from the onset people with this condition face much social challenges, they feel left out while some people have nothing to do with them they make gist of their skin condition, they are being bullied by people around them, they also find it difficult to get a life partner.

Can this condition be prevented?

Maybe ! If a family that has albinism history visit a counselor during pregnancy or before pregnancy they might get to know some necessary test to help this condition.

Conclusion

I do not see them as different because i know its not their making or fault to appear the way they are.
I also believe they have some loving potential i can look instead of focusing on their skin color.
