Papaya is not just a tropical fruit, but also an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. It is rich in Vitamin A, B, C, and K, minerals like copper, manganese, and potassium, and essential amino acids. Papaya contains carotenoids like lutein and beta-carotene that give it its yellow-orange color. Papayas are grown from seedlings of the papaya tree or from cuttings. The papaya tree grows best in subtropical or tropical climates with plenty of sunlight and moist soil. There are two main varieties of papayas: those with yellow flesh (most common) and those with red flesh. They are both equally nutritious and can be used interchangeably in recipes.
