Looks Like I was Pulled Out from the Cemetery

Which one of the two do you like better? Tell me.

Hello, Hive friends! How are you all? I hope you are all fine and happy.

For this week's Market Friday entry, I will share with you my experience with ID printing. Much thanks to @dswigle for initiating this contest.

Since Last December, I had been preparing to take the Civil Service Exam that will be held on March 26 this year. One of the requirements was a passport-size ID with a name tag and a signature under my face.

The printer on where I work is a little bit old already so I needed the help of a printing shop.

Reynold's Internet Cafe and printing shop is on the way to the bus stop from my house so I went there early in the morning just before I went to work.

To maximize the area's productivity; Internet cafes are not on a hit nowadays because most people can access the internet with their phones, and also the pandemic had lessened their income, so the owner put on a haircut studio.

There I was, taking the picture of my reflection in the mirror while waiting. A couple was first in line so I had to wait for them to finish their transaction before I could ask them to do mine.

The other half of the area was a meat shop also owned by the same owner. IT was very bright at that time already causing me to take only the reflection of the meat display glass.

So my turn came and one of the staff took a picture of me on their phone, yet I wished they took it from their DSLR camera.

I waited while they processed and print the picture but I was anxious this time because I only had a few minutes more before I would be late for work.

After a good 5 minutes, they handed me the picture; good thing I checked them out before leaving the counter and I had to complain because I was so pale on the picture.

Turns out they edited it and set the brightness to a near maximum. Lols.

I asked them to do it again and this guy is a much better and good thing the guy above understood me better. But earlier when I showed them how pale I was in the picture, the third guy said I looked like I was pulled out from the cemetery. I was offended yet I held my tongue and asked them nicely to do it again.

This time, I had to wait for another five minutes and I had to entertain myself by taking pictures inside their shop.

The basement contained the PCs for rent. They accept PC rent for 15 pesos for an hour and they had a fast internet connection.

They also had school and office and printing supplies. I once bought a photo paper for 10 pesos per sheet. A bottle of their Epson ink only costs 100 pesos.

They also print different picture sizes and the smaller ones come in a package. Mine costed 50 pesos for 4 pieces; that is what the guy told me the right before but they gave me 5 pieces of passport-size ID which I only found out when I was already away.

They also charged me 10 pesos for the scan of my name and signature. But did not charge me for the reprinting, it's their fault anyway.

Way back in 2020, I asked them to print our company IDs. They charged me 65 pesos each and a layout charge of 200 pesos. And that made me remember that they were the ones who printed out IDs way back in high school.

My experience was a bit bad but it was not much of a big deal. Sh*t happens.

This will be all for now, thank you for your time and keep safe!
