Hello friends in Marketfriday Community, this morning the weather looks bright, there are only a few clouds moving in the wind, I can go to work riding a motorcycle with a calm feeling, without fear of rain like yesterday. But around 13.00 WIB, the calm blue sky was suddenly filled with gray clouds, it looked like it would rain soon. I just got home from work and was going to go to Rais's school to pick him up from school, because I was worried that it would rain when I was on my way, I was riding a fairly fast motorcycle with a speed of 80 km/hour, the road I was going through was a sugarcane plantation, only few motorists pass through this road, because of that I dare to "speed". I arrived at Rais's school just as the bell rang, so we headed home immediately to avoid the rain on the way. After 10 minutes on the way, about 5 kilometers from home, the wind was blowing hard, the air was getting cold, light rain was falling. I was looking for a place to take shelter, right in front, I saw a noodle /mieso shop that had just opened, we stopped to take shelter and eat mieso, so Rais wouldn't catch a cold.
Mieso shop / this merah cafe is located on Jalan Sulawesi, our peaceful village, Binjai, North Sumatra province. In front of the shop there is an empty land planted with several coconut trees and banana trees, behind mieso shop there is a guardrail, this shop is adjacent to the railroad tracks. This noodle shop has only been selling for 2 weeks, this is my first visit to this red shop/cafe.
We immediately took a seat facing the road, so I could enjoy the view in front of the shop in the form of coconut trees. A waiter came with a menu for us. I ordered a bowl of chicken meatballs and Rais ordered mieso. One bowl of chicken meatball costs Rp.10,000 (USD.0.66) and one bowl of mieso costs Rp. 7000 (USD.0.5).
Order came after 4 minutes, Rais looks very happy, mieso is one of Rais' favorite menu. The difference between mieso and meatballs is the presentation of mieso using thinly sliced fried chicken sprinkled on top of the noodles and doused with hot and savory broth. Meanwhile, meatball noodles are not given fried chicken slices, only noodles with a sprinkling of meatballs and broth like the sauce in mieso.
To enjoy a delicious bowl of mieso and meatballs, add chili sauce, crushed cayenne pepper and soy sauce. It feels very appropriate eaten when the weather is cold, the body becomes warm because of the hot and tasty broth.
hmmm delicious and the broth tastes fresh. Rais really enjoyed the mieso in front of him. He looks very hungry.
Meanwhile, I enjoyed a bowl of chicken meatball noodles in a different way, first I finished the hot and fresh broth, then ate the noodles and lastly enjoyed the taste of the chicken meatballs.
After the gravy and noodles were gone, only chicken meatballs with a little gravy remained, I added chili sauce, sweet soy sauce and fine cayenne pepper to the meatballs, great.
After enjoying a bowl of mieso and meatballs, I ordered a glass of orange juice, it seemed Rais was spicier, he put a lot of cayenne pepper into his bowl. But he was able to finish his order, maybe because of the cold air, so Rais had an appetite.
While waiting for Rais to eat, I took some photos for documentation. Simple cafe in the countryside and has quite delicious taste. The price is standard rural. Even though this cafe is quite small, I have noticed that the menu offered is quite complete.At this red cafe we can also order fried rice, fried noodles, ifumie, burgers, toast, various fresh fruit juices, soft drinks and bandrek.
This simple cafe only has a rough cement floor and a roof made of tin and thatch of thatch leaves.
The rain had stopped, I paid the bill, no receipt, a bowl of mieso, a bowl of chicken meatballs and a glass of orange juice, I paid the bill for IDR 22,000 (USD 1.47). The price is cheap and the taste is pretty good, I give a score of 8/10 for the taste of the mieso and meatballs.
