And they are intricately designed to beat modern outlook

When it comes to family functions or celebrations, we always prefer the traditional outfits matching our rich heritage because they always beat the modern outfit in these occasion. We do have lot of shops where traditional outfits are available, but we do have a different taste - we need something that is gentle, elegant at the same time. We have gone to various others shops on many occasions to buy traditional outfits, but most of them have collections that have designs that looks more showy - putting some extra fittings to make them eye-catching, but we don't like that. The only exception is Fabindia where we often get what we need. They are a little expensive but based on our experience so far, we have now settled our mind to go there directly whenever we want some traditional outfits.

We have got several stores in my place, but one particular store is nearby and we are pretty regular there - we get our dry fruits, other food items on a regular basis. So each of the staff know us personally and we have full liberty to try out anything. A family function is coming soon and ladies picked their choice of things from the store. Me and my son did not get what we wanted, but then they advised to try out similar items and note the size and explore online. The online site does show collections from all the stores in India, so we got a lot of choice and ordered the items and they have now been delivered at home.

Now they are also selling furniture having some classy appearance and we did notice them. We wanted to buy a table, but the price was a bit higher - 26000/- for a table. So we decided to take some snaps and show it to the artisans who are working in our furniture factory so that they can put a similar one in teak wood. They are using sheesham wood, but teak wood also would be a good choice and we have got our own woods at home - from the plants that I planted when I was a child. Many of them fell during cyclones and we have preserved those wood for our own usage as they are pretty expensive to buy. You can barely differentiate the look between the original native teak wood vs the imported ones from Burma and China, but those who know , can figure out. Bookmark this post in your memory, I will post the one which will be prepared for you to compare. And of course you will see our outfits soon on a big family function that is coming next week.

I did not miss the opportunity to take a snap using the same Saree that the lady was trying - just a random thought that came in.
