Hi all 👋🏻
For my next post in our lovely community this Friday for the #MarketFriday by @dswigle - Denise. I will take you along to Málaga’s historical centre and the artisan market in Muelle Uno - the port of Málaga in sunny southern Spain 🇪🇸 ☀️ and to finish with some delicious lunch in a Venta. (A family run restaurant, sometimes in the middle of nowhere)
‼️If you want to know more about #MarketFriday’s have a look At this post about it: Market Friday: The Bid from @dswigle you find also the rules what to post if you want to join us.
I visited Málaga 3 June 2022 not that long ago. All photographs are taken with my iPhone.
The location of my walk you can see in Google maps by the highlighted areas in yellow. The historical centre and the port:
Let’s wander through the historical centre of Málaga first, I show you a small selection of shops that I saw. This time, I don’t show you touristy shops. But shops locals do go to. And because I posted this post: Romeria del Rocio Málaga 7-5-2016 ~ pilgrimage to Our Lady Virgen del Rocío - Spain 🇪🇸 a few days ago… you saw all those amazing FLAMENCO 💃🏻 DRESSES… I will show you a few shops where you would get them. 🥰😁
Following the time stamps of my photographs we see:
One of the main stores for 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Around the corner we see more in the shops window. Even for the little ones 👧🏻
A few shops further we see religious items in all forms.
Even statues of our Lady and Jesus
As I walk further we see more shops with the flamenco dresses 💃🏻💃🏻
The prices aren’t that bad either. The set on the right costs €100 euros, the left set cost €71 euros
This dress in red cost €189 euros.
You would be all ready to go to the ferias, the pilgrimages and all other Andalusian festivities here in Spain.
WOULD YOU WEAR IT? if you are a woman of course…😉 the men do have also traditional outfits, have a look at my post above from the pilgrimage and you can see them…
I find another store with the dresses 💃🏻💃🏻
Even matching outfits are available for mother and child 🥰
A bit further in our walk we see a hat 🎩 and fan store… needed in the summer heat 🥵👒
A little bit further we reach Plaza de Constitucion with it’s fountain.
Now we walk into Calle Larios, one of the famous streets in Málaga.
We are passing by an ice cream store 🍦🍨🍦🍨 nope I didn’t stop this time hahaha 🤣 but waved to the shop owner 👋🏻
Another store with fans we pass by… in all colours and designs.
We are walking now through some side streets and see a large store with Sabor a España - The flavour of Spain you find here cookies and candies made in Spain.
And we pass by an antique store with curiosities too.
They are displaying beautiful tiles… remember the tiles from my other posts?
As we leave the centre now, we walk towards the port of Málaga. Muelle Uno
Passing through this large park: PASSEO DEL PARQUE
We welcome the shade of the large tall and old trees… 🌴🌴🌳🌳
As we reach the port we see the little artisan market:
Lets wander around.
Beautiful tiles and prints for the walls.
Some tiles from Málaga and how we say coffee in different coffee/ milk ratios.
A larger view of the market. Isn’t it pretty and colourful.
We see lots of clothes, jewellery and accessories for the house…
And air plants 🌱 I love them 🥰
Even bags and handbags are there with hats 👒
A closer look.
A view further along.
One last look around.
Now we go back to the car.
And drive out of Málaga on our way towards meeting friends. We stop along the way in Alhaurín El Grande for lunch first as we are a bit early still.
At this restaurant… Venta: LOS MORENOS
We are early so almost the first ones, but bit by bit more people are joining us. And soon it is bustling 🤩
On the wall we see tiles celebrating their 50th anniversary 1968 - 2018
So it has been in their family for a while.
Our food arrives.
Can you guess what it is?
Gambas Pil Pil
Calamares
We also had a fresh mixed salad and some bread with it. Also 2 drinks.
Our bill for this lunch came to €31,90 euros
And that’s all for today’s #MarketFriday post. Until the next one! 👋🏻😎 are you joining me again soon? 😉💃🏻
Hope you enjoyed wandering with me through Málaga centre and visiting the port and the little market there.
Thank you for looking and reading 😊 🙏🏻
