This week my husband and I took a two-day get-away to the town of Duluth, which is on the north shore of Minnesota, on the shore of Lake Superior.
We went to dinner at a restaurant called The Boat Club, which wax in a complex with all kinds of shops and businesses and restaurants.
Even though this is my Market Friday post, I just have to share the view of the full moon rising on Lake Superior before we went into the building.
Then we went in! And I had no idea what was in store. There were the cutest shops, with cooking wares and gourmet food, plus a book shop and more, and they were all so charmingly decorated for Halloween!
I was really amazed by the gourmet food store. There were spices snd sauces snd teas with exotic names. And I wanted to quit my job and go work there.
I have always loved quaint shops and book stores. Unfortunately these days I read all of my books on Audible, so I’m afraid I’m not supporting the indie book sellers.
Our dinner at The Boat House was amazing. We shared crab cakes for an appetizer, and then my husband had scallops and I had a lobster and pasta dish. It was divine.
We were seated at a view window overlooking the lake, so we had a view of that beautiful rising moon over Lake Superior as we ate dinner.
I forgot to take a picture of our dinner, which is not surprising because while the food was amazing it was not that pretty to look at! However, they brought us a love dessert to share, in honor of our anniversary, and I did get a picture of that!
It had cookies, cream, ice cream, berries and “Happy Anniversary” written in cocoa powder.
I took another picture of the moon after we left the restaurant. It looked so Van Gogh to me!
