Trip to the Market Far, Far Away

Once upon a time, there was a couple by the name Farm Boy and Farm Girl who embarked on an adventure on a a land far, far away... They speak very little of the language but they went for it anyway.

One weekend, they got bored staying at their apartment so they both decided to go for a trip to the local supermarket and there they found many things that delighted their eyes and their souls!

The market was quite vast but they managed to find their way through aisles. And here came the noodles! The farm boy was lost as he feasted his eyes upon the many flavors and brands and colors of cup noodles piled atop another in rows of the long display racks.

"Which of these are delicious...?" he gasped, undecided which to pick. He spent quite some time standing there, while the farm girl just watched, giggly and mesmerized at her overwhelmed husband.

After what seemed to be forever, they moved along the stretchy aisles and found themselves fascinated with colorful candies on transparent glass displays. The orange gummy ones caught their attention and those colorful coated mini ball candies, processed Kiwi fruits, and grapes too.

Moving on, the farmgirl found herself picking up a bucket of Snickers. And oh boy, her heart skipped a beat when she found out that one of her favorite snacks was there too! Imagine a kid who had been given a favorite toy, yes, she got that kind of reaction, lol!

Walking through more aisles, they couldn't help taking photos of these Starbucks' different flavored coffee drinks, and some local ones too. They could have taken some of those but they were not fond of them. They preferred black, plain coffee on cups :)

And whilst they moved along, they were astonished by these sugar slabs on the shelves. They haven't used any of these in the past!

They were told that these are best for making desserts or sweet treats.

They headed toward the fruit section where they were surprised to see one of their country's produce - PH Bananas with the famous logo on them (Dole).

Local fruits like apples, kiwi, passion fruits, and wait, these are some shiny coconuts!

And what was more astonishing were these huge rattan fruits! They have never seen anything as big as these in their home country!

And some lemons from the City of Sails too. Lemons seem to be pricey out there and these being imported from New Zealand were even more costly.

Quite exhausted from walking here and there, they ended their market tour by adding a pack of instant oatmeal and some flavored biscuits on their basket.

But wait, there were more! Ginger? and Cabbages? They noticed these while they were looking for the easiest route to the counters.

But oh no, they didn't really need to cook their own meals so they just passed them by toward the counter where they settled their bills for the basketful of goodies and miscellaneous stuff which included a pack of paper towels, snickers, raisin snacks, cup noodles, bananas, apples, a pack of oatmeal, biscuits, and some more sweet treats. The cost of which was more or less $20 (RMB150). And they headed out on to their next adventure.

And where was that?

They walked to the nearest KFC food chain where they made their tummies very happy.
