Market Friday get Cultured

Late this spring, I went to my favorite flower nursery and purchased young plants for my garden. I even made a #MarketFriday post on it. All of these flowers have grown up and made my yard beautiful. That is what we do here, for this challenge. Show and tell... share.

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see different markets and cultures of our friends here on Hive.

I suppose most would not consider what I do a traditional market any week, and it didn't start out this way and evolved into what it is today, in ways to fit each person. After all, this challenge is all about your experience, sharing your home country, teaching us a little about your culture, it comes with each post as you go about your business.

It has been wonderful!

I have a friend in Norway who is a musher. A dogsledder. He trains his team, eats with them, sometimes sleeps with them, and even plays with them. I learned more things through him than I would have through National Geographic. I learned all about his culture over many years. It was interesting and I was curious. Meeting new people, experiencing different cultures. How many people do you know that are mushers?

Culture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music, and arts, this according to Google.

This is what each and every one of you gives me when I read through your posts. I must say that I receive some of the best posts on the platform, describing in detail what you are doing, eating, even thinking. And I thank you, dearly. All of you.And I know the effort it takes to pull one of these together. So, it makes me feel even more humbled by this.

STOP!! IMPORTANT VOTE AHEAD!

Question:I know that people like contests and I have been reluctant to change, but, change can be good. How many would you like to continue #MarketFriday as it is, or would you like me to award prizes? I will see what everyone votes and then I will decide on how to do it, in the case of a contest. I cannot upvote and spend money on a contest, so there will be that. Thank you for giving me your time this week! Please give me an answer in the comment section.

Rules of the Road

Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post again and again, I am encouraged by you, for the time you take to visit, comment or even upvote. For all of these reasons, I am eternally grateful. Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Some days, it is not as easy to see, how wonderful it really is. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
