Hi folks, I'm writing to you from Alicante airport,
I am writing to you from Alicante airport, from where I will be flying home in a couple of hours after a few days working in this beautiful but hot land.
Today I finished the training course I was giving several hours earlier than planned, so I had 5 extra hours for my free time before coming to the airport. So, first I went to the Alicante Castle with the intention of going for a walk, but the heat was so intense that I only took a couple of pictures from near the car park.
(I have the pictures of the castle on the camera in my checked-in bag).
Faced with this hot situation I decided to look for a shopping centre in the area and I found one 8 kilometres from Alicante, in the town of San Vicente des Raspeage where there is a good variety of restaurants to eat and several shops to visit.
As you can see, inside the shopping centre there is a Corte Inglés Outlet and this kind of shops usually have very good offers as there are products out of season or products with a minimum defect that in many cases one is not able to find.
A gift for my mother.
You may wonder why I have started with the women's section and the reason is that my mother had her birthday a few days ago and I wanted to give her a present.
As you can see, there is a wide variety of clothing and accessories for women, so as I went through the whole section I came up with several ideas for my mother's gift.
But giving my mother a gift of clothes is very complicated and she hardly uses accessories such as handbags, so I quickly focused on the footwear section.
As I browsed through the section, I saw a lot of summer shoes and some casual shoes.
However, the moment I decided to go for a purchase for my mother was when I saw this section of ultrasound shoes, as on summer weekends at some point during the day my mother and I usually go for a walk.
A purchase for me
After selecting the gift for my mother, I then started to browse the men's section, which is a little less extensive than the women's section, but I found several items that caught my eye such as this section of jackets.
Next, I looked for the trousers section and I was looking at the different models; however, I did not find a pair of trousers that I liked and I did not like the model of the ones that were there, so in this section I was a bit desperate.
So the next station where I stopped was the shirts section and here I did find a product that suited me and my budget, as I found a linen shirt from Emidio Tucci with a value of 49.95 euros reduced its price to 19 euros, so the moment I confirmed that the size fit me I did not hesitate to put it in the shopping cart.
A stroll through the rest of the sections.
After this purchase I continued to look at the rest of the sections of the outlet and I found several additional sections and I think there are all the expected sections such as the sports section with lots of walking clothes and sports shoes.
Next to this sports section, and I guess because it is summer, there was a swimwear section for both men and women.
And also a children's clothing section.
But the strangest thing was to find a section for the home with pans, pots and pans and other utensils that I didn't expect to be available in an outlet.
Paying for the purchase
Finally, I left the shop with the slippers for my mother and the linen shirt for me, making a total purchase of 50 euros of products that had a much higher cost before the price reduction. So I think I have made a very good purchase.
Fosters Hollywood
After the shopping and due to the time I decided to take refuge from the heat in one of the fast food restaurants in the shopping centre, in particular I went to Fosters Hollywood.
Here I ordered a chicken marinated in barbecue sauce accompanied by jacket potato and vegetables.
The taste of the chicken was very good; however, the jacket potato left something to be desired.
To get rid of the bad taste in my mouth from the jacket potato, I ordered a chocolate avocado for dessert, which was very tasty.
Additionally, inside the "avocado" there is a cream filling which was super delicious and the fried puff pastry triangles accompanying the avocado made a nice crunchy complement to this dessert.
Without further ado, fleeing the heat of Alicante, I found myself with a formidable #marketfriday.
