Dozens of protesters were detained during a march in New York City against alleged unwanted hysterectomies of immigrant women at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Georgia, after whistleblower complaints from one of the nurses at the center. According to reports, following a complaint by nurse Dawn Wooten, the Department of Homeland Security opened an investigation into allegations that immigrant women have been subjected to unwanted surgical procedures at the privately run Irwin County Detention Center in Georgia, resulting in them being unable to conceive.
