Techno Saturday - Some Amsterdam Dance Event aftermath

Heck, how good it was to be outside again amongst other humans dancing around a bit. Normally Amsterdam Dance Event is something that is a continuous party throughout literally 7 days. You can be able to catch a party every moment day and night and this year this has reduced to only the day.

Is that a bad thing? Honestly, I didn't mind that much but maybe that is just me getting older. I remember some stories about the closing party on the NDSM shipwarf where people who had been raving non stop would attend with literally their suitcases to dance a bit more before catching their plane home. I'm not sure if this same format will be happening this year.

But back to the Homeless Homies Party yesterday hosted by DJ Bone.

Luke Slater

Just some small pieces of footage from this legend because techno isn't meant for making videos from it but to dance on it. What a blast this veteran made out of his set. Dark clean metallic sounded beats and in combination with the lights were just sublime. I really enjoyed the set and it was as dark as I had hoped for. Halfway there was a little pauze in the pressure and that was when I decided to leave as I dont like to wait until something is entirely finished.

What a legend, and if you have a chance to catch this dude somewhere along this ADE week, just do so and you will not regret it.

DJ Bone

The host of the evening himself was also on a role! As I not the biggest fan of Detroit techno this wasn't really on my hotlist, but DJ Bone really put in a lot of melodic stuff (including a high amount of using the fader..hmmmm) followed by darker techno and back to melodic and it was a winning combination! And what DJ Bone just does really well is feel what the audience wants and interact on this.

This was really a cool set and really also the reaction from the crowd was complimenting the music.

So there was enough to see and do during this evening and also the vibe of the city was good again. I must also admit that this event hosted in the Radion was just really cool. Radion is located in the South side of Amsterdam and it takes a bit of effort to get there, which means that most people who are there really want to be there.

It is concrete, hollow and has multiple areas having something for everyone. Radion, thanks again!
