Las Gárgolas, esculturas típicas utilizadas en la arquitectura gótica. Tienen un aspecto terrorífico. Al mirar una no puedes evitar observarlas de manera hipnótica, la cantidad de detalles que el artista imprime en ellas, las hace de alguna forma hermosa en todos sus elementos. No pude dejar de pasar la oportunidad de replicar una en mis dibujos. Mi hijo Carlos, se maravilla con estas figuras y fue él quien me ayudó a escoger el modelo que usé para referencia.

The Gargoyles, typical sculptures used in gothic architecture. They have a terrifying aspect. When you look at one you can't help but observe them in a hypnotic way, the amount of details that the artist prints on them, makes them somehow beautiful in all their elements. I could not pass up the opportunity to replicate one in my drawings. My son Carlos, marvels at these figures and it was he who helped me choose the model I used for reference.

Para realizar mi dibujo como siempre empecé realizando el boceto.

To make my drawing as usual I started by making the sketch.

Luego de aplicar una capa delgada de pintura corporal blanca, para que se adhiera mejor la sombra gris para maquillaje que uso en mi dibujo.

Continué resaltando todos los bordes con lápiz de cera negra.

I continued by highlighting all the edges with black wax pencil.

Seguidamente, apliqué una nueva capa de sombra gris, pero en un tono más oscuro, poniendo especial cuidado en las partes más oscuras que son las que le dan profundidad al dibujo.

Next, I applied a new layer of gray shadow, but in a darker tone, taking special care on the darker parts which are the ones that give depth to the drawing.

Coloqué pintura al frío blanco en las zonas de luz, además este procedimiento ayuda a dar el efecto de ser una figura de concreto.

I placed white cold paint in the light areas, also this procedure helps to give the effect of being a concrete figure.

Por último realicé el sombreado en el contorno de toda la figura para ayudarla a resaltar y no tener un simple fondo blanco.

Lastly I did the shading on the outline of the whole figure to help it stand out and not have a simple white background.
