Is it a fat account balance, good health, a Lamborghini, a relationship, a career, etc?
The list continues. I like the story of Job. A man who had everything and was satisfied. Getting a sacrifice to atone for his children's sins was not difficult. He was a man that loved God and didn't want anything to disrupt his relationship with God.
However, we all know what happened. He was stripped of everything he had including his children and was left with nothing. That wasn't all, he developed a disease. It got so awful that his wife told him to curse God and die.
Did he do that? No. He remained faithful to God because he trusted God despite all that was happening around him.
God is the only one who can give us happiness, and he is the only one who can make our hearts happy no matter what happens around us.
It's okay to like material things because it is one of the things we need to survive on earth. However, we shouldn't get lost in it.
After losing everything, Job would have cursed and died as his wife suggested if he did not care about God and only cared about his wealth.
Our relationship with God is very important. All the wealth and fame one may think they have isn't in the abundance of those things but in one's relationship with God.
If you want genuine happiness in your heart, make sure your relationship with God is genuine too.
