I want to welcome us all to another week of Afri-tunes. Today I decided to do an old Nigerian song. This song happen to be one of my favorite songs ever. When the song came out in 2007, it went viral. It was a wedding song and it was played at almost all the wedding reception at that time. It is an evergreen song and even i told myself, it must be played at my own wedding someday.

The lyric of the song talks about you being joined with your lover and no one can sepererate you forever. It goes further to talk about the joy of getting married and also entail some prayers that will sustain the marriage. Here in Nigeria, weddings are usually done on Saturdays and so yesterday this song came to my mind. That was when I make the recording of this song. I was unable to post it then due to poor network but I'm glad I'm able to now. I do hope we enjoy this song. It is a special song which we can download and listen to. The song is a mixture of both English and Yoruba though it's more of English than Yoruba. In the lyrics below, I made the subtitle of the yoruba in the brackets beside. Love is a beautiful thing and that is what I want us to start this week with. To those married, its another week to cherish your husband/wife. To those in a relationship, do pamper your lover this week and to those single, show love to your family and friends.

Quiero darnos la bienvenida a todos a otra semana de Afri-tunes. Hoy decidí hacer una vieja canción nigeriana. Esta canción resulta ser una de mis canciones favoritas de todos los tiempos. Cuando salió la canción en 2007, se volvió viral. Era una canción de bodas y se tocaba en casi todas las recepciones de bodas en ese momento. Es una canción de hoja perenne e incluso me dije a mí mismo, algún día debe tocarse en mi propia boda.

La letra de la canción habla de que estás unido a tu amante y nadie puede separarte para siempre. Va más allá al hablar sobre la alegría de casarse y también implica algunas oraciones que sostendrán el matrimonio. Aquí en Nigeria, las bodas se suelen hacer los sábados y ayer me vino a la mente esta canción. Fue entonces cuando realizo la grabación de esta canción. No pude publicarlo en ese momento debido a la mala red, pero me alegro de poder hacerlo ahora. Espero que disfrutemos esta canción. Es una canción especial que podemos descargar y escuchar. La canción es una mezcla de inglés y yoruba, aunque es más inglés que yoruba. En la letra a continuación, hice el subtítulo del yoruba entre paréntesis al lado. El amor es algo hermoso y con eso quiero que empecemos esta semana. Para los casados, es otra semana para apreciar a su esposo/esposa. Para los que están en una relación, mimen a su amante esta semana y para los solteros, muestren amor a su familia y amigos.
