It's a great food. Also, it can be made into rope, textiles, etc. The prohibition was/is insane because it should, at the very least, not extend to this non-psychoactive variety. If I am not mistaken, hemp comes from the male of the plant and is never psychoactive.
And the female is pretty darned good too in her own right!
