Getting Everything Ready!
Bubble hash is a cannabis concentrate comprising countless trichomes, or resinous glands, that have been separated from the plant using ice water, agitation, and a sieve. Bubble hash gets its name from the way that it bubbles when exposed to flame. The bags used to make it at home are also known as “bubble bags.”

We have dried, trimmed and now curing all the cannabis from this year. We have trimmings full of trichomes waiting to be extracted and turned into bubble hash using an ice water extraction method.
I was taught how to do this extraction method many moons ago when I was in my 20s, had a (mostly)full head of hair and was enjoying life in Wine Country (Sonoma, California). There are many ways to do this process and this is just one way I was taught by an Old School Grateful Dead Hippie.
I will need to gather some items for this endeavor.
You can find these bubble bags online, especially on Amazon. There are cheaper varieties on Amazon as well. I chose these in hopes that they will last for a couple of years, they are 15-20 USD higher in price than the cheapest set of bubble bags.
I am only using 5 bubble bags total; 220 micron, 160 micron, 120 micron, 73 micron and 25 micron sizes.
The Bubble Bags we got is for Five Gallon buckets. We will need two total.
I really was trying to find a reasonable priced handheld mixer online that was 400 Watts and had a special attachment that is hard to find. The mixing attachment needs to be a smooth four pronged attachment. The blade like mixing attachment makes it to where cannabis trim gets struck to it.
This mixer is 250 Watts and that should be sufficient. It was just what was in the budget.
I will need a large Bamboo stirring spoon for this process.
This will help do a few things like keep the material cold while going through the mixing process to better allow for trichomes to break of the plant material. This Deep freezer goes to -7 F.
Having 12 edges to the ice cubes helps with breaking trichomes off plant material.
Honestly, I am used to using Reynolds Oven Bags to store material in the freezer but these bags work ok. Just it is hard to suck the air out completely for long term storage.
I will use these to place the wet finished hash onto after scraping the bags off. Using the Sharpie to properly label what is what.
I will use these to scrape off the extracted trichomes/hash
This is to ensure that the hash is dried to optimum moisture levels. This house has these wall mounted heaters that dries a room out no problem.
I will let the Ice Cubes, Cannabis Trimmings and Bubble Bags sit in the Deep Freezer over night!
Until then enjoy some music and maybe do a lil chair dance...🕺🕺🕺
