IM A RISING STAAAAR... I'LL GO FAR...
Throughout this post when I mention game cards or trading cards - Think NFT's, all will become apparent.
With regard to my opening line, 'if ya don't know, ya don't know.' However I bloody hate it when people do that. They basically imply there's an 'in joke' or a cool meme, gif or saying and you are not in the club homie!
So maybe I should indoctrinate you into our elite society which is more like a secret underground society or cult!!! invite you behind the curtain and let ya know about something potentially very cool that hasn't fully piqued your curiosity or triggered your radar. Now today isn't exactly like that as I know you have heard of this fabulous game but maybe are a bit unsure about it yet.
Enter, me! (I should maybe, explain that was a stage direction...) ahem.
A while back, at a Hive meetup, I had a blockchain crypto reward paying game recommended to me by Slobberchops. I'm gonna avoid a gratuitous tag fest so I'm not gonna @ him. I could kick myself in all honesty as I had been very aware of it since the very beginning as it was heavily promoted in a server I used on Discord and I always meant to get around to signing up.
My primary concern was that it was gonna take ages to connect to my Hive engine account, it's actually an instant process.
I don't have time for playing bloody games, I'm a grownup and spend so much time working and writing. It takes a few minutes each day and usually I have the game open on my phone.
I am more interested in crypto stuffzzz and earning opportunities. This game comes with many differing earning opportunities if that's where your interests lie. Imagine winning a trading card worth several hundred or even thousand Hive? Have you heard of STARBITS or noticed them on Hive engine yet? OK OK I'm getting way ahead of myself here. This is not meant to be a definitive guide to the 'Rising Star' game but will ideally give you a flavour of the game and allow me to shill my affiliate link and let me show you why you SHOULD be playing.

The main premise of the game is to go from being a lowly busker and being chased away from your illegal busking activity by angry police to becoming a global megastar like Barry Manilow Ariana, Mariah, Ed Sheeran or the undisputed megastar of all of recorded history... Barry Manilow. Cue: the confused looking youngsters about to be traumatised via Google!
The journey is charted by performing missions or events like open mic nights, radio interviews, support slots at festivals etc. Each mission lasts a set amount of minutes, the more progress you make stacks up to propel you along the journey to the International Star we all know you're destined to become.
As you progress you will earn more and more STARBITS which will allow you to buy packs of cards or individual cards from other players. They can also be purchased on Hive Engine in all the normal ways you would buy or trade coins or tokens.
The following steps show me buying 12 packs of cards using 100,000 STARBITS this is an exciting way to grow your collection and potentially earn a share of the organically growing daily prize pool shared out among the top 100 ish players. Also you may win that card that is worth a whole lotta STARBITS or Hive!
I have been slowly but surely climbing the leader board top 100 for a little while now and recently climbed into the 70's. I am currently position 79 so stacking up on some new cards by opening 12 packs of 3 cards should help me climb a little more.

Packs one through three:
The highlight from the first three packs is Clive and Jessie, they are gonna help me build more skill, so I have more skill than fans, that can only lead to too much ego. That's not good for the game at all... You will notice they are both 'rare' cards which obviously gives them a higher utility in the game and also a higher value if I was to sell them due to their higher stats.
On to packs 4 through six:
Ashby is gonna boost my skill score even more, you will notice this is an 'epic' card meaning it is even better than a rare but not nearly as good as a 'legendary' a 2nd string machine and doesn't need another swarmandal in their life???
Let's get straight to opening packs seven through nine:
It would appear I am now the proud owner of 2 swarmandals!!! who among my offline peers could ever make such a bold claim? Another Jessie helps with skill and thus restraining my burgeoning ego and that cheap car would look completely 'in place' outside my house. I was gonna buy the storm card as an individually to help fill out the rare section of my collection, now I don't have to - Whoo-Hoo!
So the final three packs of twelve in total... Will there be a legendary card in there? Or just a legendary affiliate link
C'mon, you knew it was coming, right? 😉
Alas there is no 'legendary' card today, I know, however that I have bolstered my ranking in the 'top 100' gained a couple of Bethany's (maybe they're twins, I dunno!) a Griff a cheap sax and even a dodgy manager (why does that make me feel like I am back at work???).
Ah what the hell... Maybe I should buy another pack, one for the road, huh? Card opening becomes addictive.
I am one 'Tabla' better off than I was before I bought that pack, which is always a bonus, right? I have been missing a 'Tabla' in my life, I only hope I don't set it with plates and cutlery... 🤦♂️🤷♂️😒
There is so much more to know about 'Rising Star' such as why the hell would I want to eat a cold pizza slice or a frikkin discarded pizza??? Drinking this whisky makes fans come flocking out of the woodwork, what gives?
