Sabrina Carpenter Unleashes Gory Karma in "Feather" Music Video
In her latest music video for "Feather," Sabrina Carpenter takes justice into her own hands as she gleefully engineers the demise of obnoxious men. Released on Halloween, the video is a bloody spectacle that captures Carpenter's darker side.
As Carpenter listens to music through her headphones, lifts weights, and casually rides an elevator, she encounters men who engage in catcalling, mansplaining, and invasive photography. However, their actions quickly catch up with them in the form of instant karma. The catcallers meet a gruesome end under the wheels of a truck, the fitness gurus fight each other to death, and the predatory photographer has his blood squeezed out of him in an elevator shaft, thanks to Carpenter, who thoughtlessly jams his tie in the closing doors.
In a twist, Carpenter frolics around a church, seemingly during the men's collective funeral, all the while singing, "I feel so much lighter like a feather with you off my mind."
"Feather" is the latest track from Carpenter's July 2022 album, "Emails I Can't Send," to receive the music video treatment. The album debuted at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 upon its release, marking Carpenter's highest peak on the chart.
"Feather" gained momentum this year, thanks to its popularity among fans of "Emails." Addressing this, Carpenter took to Instagram Stories before the video's release, stating, "You guys showed 'feather' so much love we had to make a video."
Carpenter recently performed "Feather" for Spotify Singles, where she also covered Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble." Swift praised Carpenter's rendition, solidifying her as one of the opening acts for Swift's "Eras Tour."
