Morro das Pedras beach is in the southern corner of Praia do Campeche, where the hill that gives the place its name enters the sea and separates it from Praia da Armação, in the south of the island of Santa Catarina.
Long and wide, its strip of soft sand extends to Joaquina in the north.
The ocean waves are rough, perfect for surfing and somewhat dangerous for unsuspecting swimmers, children and the elderly. The extension is 2,450 meters and has a width of 5 to 45 meters.
It is one of the favorite spots for local surfers on south wind days.
The place is quiet, with few inns and bars, and the locals usually say that it is where the sun rises first, as the hill enters the sea, being one of the easternmost points on the island.
Today's photos were taken a while ago, when I was the daily reporter of sea conditions for surfing.

A praia de Morro das Pedras fica no canto sul da Praia do Campeche, onde o morro que dá nome ao lugar entra no mar e a separa da Praia da Armação, no sul da ilha de Santa Catarina.
Longa e larga, sua faixa de areia fofa se estende até a Joaquina no norte.
As ondas do mar são agitadas, perfeitas para o surfe e um tanto perigosa para banhistas desavisados, crianças e idosos. A extensão é de 2.450 metros e possui uma largura de 5 a 45 metros.
É um dos pontos preferidos pelos surfistas locais nos dias de vento sul.
O lugar é tranquilo, com poucas pousadas e bares, e os locais costumam dizer que é onde o sol nasce primeiro, já que o morro entra no mar sendo um dos pontos mais a leste na ilha.
As fotos de hoje foram feitas um tempo atrás, quando eu fazia o repórter diário das condições do mar para o surf.
