Exploring Europe's Hidden Gems #2 Amsterdam

Add a heading.png

Amsterdam is a city with many great places and you absolutely need at least a week to sufficiently explore. In this article, I bring you tips to discover the true beauty of this Dutch city.

1) Roof of the museum NEMO

The museum is located a short walk from the main train station and, in addition to a great indoor exhibition, offers a nice view of the city center. The roof closes before sunset in summer, but you can also watch a nice sunset from the stairs. When I stayed in Amsterdam after work, this was such a relaxing place for me and I highly recommend it.

2) Chair-shaped skyscraper

When I saw this skyscraper for the first time, I wondered what on earth... but after a long time I quite liked it because of its unusual shape. Nice view you can find from the Gevlebrug Bridge.

3) Amsterdam's famous canals

Amsterdam is sometimes referred to as "The Canal City" and is very reminiscent of Venice, Italy. There are also flowers along every canal in the city center, which can be nicely captured in a photo to create something original. It's impossible to pick the prettiest one, everywhere you walk has its own charm. In Amsterdam, it is important not to look underfoot, but to observe the beauty around you.

Amsterdam is made up of many different faces. There is a perfect nightlife, great food, plenty of places to play sports, cycling becomes your main means of getting around and great places for photographers who never get bored in Amsterdam.
