Plan in Advance? Thanks, but no Thanks!

Good morning, little bees!

I've been quite busy over the last couple of days, so I haven't posted very much. I have a little bit of time now and, since it's Tuesday, I'm posting another shot for the #treetuesday initiative by @old-guy-photos.

This is the view from the top of a small hill in Afife, a small town near Viana do Castelo, in the North of Portugal. From there you can get a good view of the town... and the sea.

The town is a labyrinth of streets and houses of all sorts and shapes, since planning is something that don't appeal to our architects and engineers. In this country we tend to start building... before planning. Then we plan as we go along. And, of course, we change our plans every 5 minutes to work around some unexpected issue... you know, because we didn't plan in advance! 🤭

That attitude of ours is the reason why most of our tows look like this: a total chaos of mismatched houses and apartments. Driving around is also a problem, since the roads are only made after the houses are built. You can imagine how that goes. 😆

Well, that's just the way we do it and if you don't like it, I'm sorry to inform... you are in the wrong country - because that will never ever change. We've been doing things like this for almost a thousand years now and I'm almost sure it will be like that for a thousand years more. 😂

If you find yourself living in Portugal, all of this becomes normal to you and you simply relax... sit back... and enjoy the view while drinking a beer! 🍻
