Old Cars Had So Much Style!

Good night, friends!

Here are a couple more cars I've found during my holidays in San Francisco, 11 years ago. Both are incredibly sexy, much more slick and handsome than the modern cars that most brands are selling these days.

The first is a car built in the late 50's by the DeSoto division of Chrysler and it's called the 1958 DeSoto Fireflite 2-Door Sportsman, with a very classic shape and incredible finishing touches all around. That spike on the front of the hood is both very sexy and menacing... I wouldn't fancy to be hit by such a thing, that's for sure. It looks like it could do some serious damage. 🤭

The front bumper seems solid enough to break a few legs.

The second car was parked nearby and it's a 1961 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Unlike the above model, this one has rounded lines instead. It looks very beautiful... and it already has some features that remind of the famous Beetle model, which Volkswagen would introduce 10 years later.

It doesn't look as strong as the Desoto model but that front bumper seems very powerful as well, ready to withstand some big impact.

Instead of two windshield wipers, it has only one... so I can imagine the passenger wouldn't feel very confortable during rainy days. Seems a bit selfish to make a feature like this. I wonder what was the reason behind it?

On the other hand, the inside rearview mirror feels a lot more practical than the one in the Desoto.

I hope you liked these cool looking cars! If you could choose one of these for yourself, what would your choice be? I'd be more inclined for the Desoto model. And you? 😎
