Good night, friends!
This is my entry for the Seaphotography Contest - Week 100 hosted by @marc-allaria.
Here are three photos taken at the beach in Vila do Conde. The first couple of photos show you where not to swim. If you enter the waters here, it's most likely you'll end up paying an emergency visit to the nearest hospital. 🤕
Even though it might be tempting to go for a swim here when the waters are shallow and flat... it's a really bad idea. It just takes an unannounced wave to send you flying against the rocks and you'll end up in a world of hurt. 😬
So, feel free to stand on the rocks and watch the waters... but don't act as a Rambo.
If you wish to go for a swim, just walk along the beach a couple hundred meters and you'll reach a spot where it's a lot safer to dive in and have fun. Still, don't get too distracted... there are still a few underwater rocks that can do some damage.
Always try to look for the place with the less rocks. The life-keepers have enough trouble as it is. Don't you go and make their jobs even more difficult.
If you keep in mind this simple advice you will live longer... and with all of your limbs, too. 😏
This must sound like a very obvious thing to the reasonable minds out there but believe me, there are plenty of people who make the mistake of going for a swim right at the spot where the danger is... some are thrill seekers, others simply didn't think well enough. Whatever the reasons, try to avoid following their steps.
Be safe... and happy swimming! 😎
