Teddycows in the fog

Near the place I live there are big heath fields on which Scottish highlander cows are set free. The cows prevent the heath fields from overgrowing by grass and other undesired plants that might grow there.

They live in groups and have a huge area in where they can be found. With their impressive horns these huge animals might be a bit scary. In reality they are super friendly and soft animals. And they are somewhat cute looking too with their long eyelashes and furry heads. That's why we use to call them "Teddy Cows"

We had some very foggy days the past weeks and I thought that would make good conditions to photograph them. Although they are friendly animals, one should be careful not to come too close. They are way more faster than you might think. Especially when young calf's are around you should not push your luck too far.

I'm looking forward to spring time when new baby cows are born. They have so much cuteness and are really funny to watch as they run around and seek shelter by their mom's.

Hopefully we get some more foggy days the coming period, since I really enjoy photographing these mighty animals.

Cheers,
