The photo quality of this post suffers terribly because of this photo right here. Failure to plan is a plan for failure. I didn't double check that I brought my SD card for the DSLR. So I was forced to use the cellphone.

The Pennsylvania mountains are full of limestone that provides a great surface for lichens to grow. These beauties are an examples of a really large symmetric lichen on limestone and a tree.

The sun rises and sets were beautiful, just really cold this time of year

Beautiful trails available, sometimes with old hardware visible even paths carved in the mountainside from the logging days.

Fantastic looking moss can be found even during cold weather. The ferns were dying out for the year. Too cold when it's been below freezing several times per week.

The beauty is not without it's dangers. Over two days I found at least 10 ticks. Some after I got home inspected myself and after a shower. If you're out there be safe. I've heard too many stories of Lyme's and how bad it can be. Stay safe out there.
