Endless opportunities for blueberry picking. Blueberry hills forever 😉 thats my last bad pop music reference in this post, I promise.
With a beautiful view!
Blueberry hill is a wild blueberry management area in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area near Goshen, Vermont.
The berry bushes are all around.
There are blueberries but also wild blackberries and wild raspberries.
The quantities of blueberries is overwhelming.
However for the uninitiated... wild blueberries are smaller and grow close to the ground. Lots of work 😅
We went two days and got over 6 pounds for the tiny berries 🙂 Spent about an hour each day to break it up.
There are also random flowers 😊
If you go, its well marked. Wild blueberries like some shade so look under the taller bushes for the biggest blueberries and most productive plants.
The path in is deceptive. There are hundreds of hiking trails heading off through the undergrowth in Vermont.
But it opens up. I think the "management" consists of keeping the larger trees for taking over the open fields.
For those of you that aren't 50's Rock and Roll fans or never watched Happy Days ...
