Visit to the Royal City of Knin

This was a nice trip with the family to the Croatian royal city of Knin, which suffered great destruction in the war but was almost completely rebuilt and is now beautiful. This trip was last year in July when it was 39 degrees Celsius outside, but it was a little windy so it was easier to endure.

Before the very steep descent and big bends, there is a viewpoint from which you can see the whole city of Knin, and that's where we stopped first.

When we descended towards the city, we stopped right before the entrance to the park, where there are benches for resting and exercise equipment.

Arrival in the city center

After a little rest and play, we headed to the very center of the city to see how they renovated it and to have a coffee somewhere in a nearby coffee bar.

Final destination "Knin fortress"

Finally, we reached the main point of our visit and where the biggest battles were fought, which is the Knin fortress, which was unfortunately destroyed in the war, but the foundations remained.
The Croatian flag is now raised there and a statue of the first Croatian president, Franjo Tudjman, is placed there.
Of course, there is also a museum and a souvenir shop where you can buy souvenirs from Knin.
There are steep small steps leading to the very top, so it was very difficult to get to the top as it was over 40 degrees outside in the sun when we arrived in the very center of Knin, which is the hottest city in Croatia in the summer because it is located in the valley.
