Gallery 5830' recently won a "Best Of" award for best local art gallery. The Best Of is a contest organized by our local newspaper, The Sierra Sun. Every year, there is a nomination period where many local businesses are entered into categories, and then people get to vote on their favorites. I actually won the Best Local Artist category back in 2020. This year, Gallery 5830' won the Best Art Gallery category, WooHoo!!!
I stopped by the gallery this morning to congratulate the gallery owners and get a few photos of the tree blooming in front of the gallery. It's a special time of year in Downtown Truckee, California. Many trees are blooming bright pink and white flowers that usually only last for a few days before all the flower petals fall off. It was cloudy when I first arrived at the gallery which made for dull flat light. Luckily, by the time I was leaving, the clouds cleared a bit and the sunlight made the flowers pop with color.
Shot handheld with a Canon 5DS R and a 16-35mm lens. The ISO was 400, the shutter speed was 1/200 of a second, and the aperture varied.
At the gallery, I have also recently replaced some sold prints and some winter images with new canvas prints. The canvas prints are printed by me personally on a 44" wide Epson 9900, here in Truckee. I truly appreciate being part of this little gallery, great location, great art, and great gallery owners.
