Intro

The lockdown has us all under control and we are even forbidden to leave the property at night. So now I have time to pass the time with long exposure photography. The few cars that are still on the road are my motifs for today right in front of my front door.

Der Lockdown hat uns alle fest im Griff und es ist uns sogar verboten nachts das Grundstück zu verlassen. Somit habe ich nun Zeit mir mit Langzeitfotografie die Zeit zu vertreiben. Die wenigen Autos die dennoch unterwegs sind sind meine Motive für heute direkt vor meiner Haustüre.

Motiv 1

There is a pedestrian crossing 50 meters away and it takes a car 15 seconds to drive through the whole picture. So I set the aperture to 13 to lengthen the time. Once without a car and once with a car.

50 Meter entfernt ist ein Fußgängerüberweg und ein Auto benötigt 15 Sekunden um das ganze Bild zu durchfahren. Also setze ich die Blende auf 13 um die Zeit soweit zu verlängern. Einmal ohne Auto und einmal mit Auto.

Motiv 2

To get a little more movement in the picture, the cyclist was just right for me. Oncoming cars, on the other hand, quickly make the picture too bright and controlled exposure is difficult.

Um etwas mehr Bewegung ins Bild zu bekommen kam mir der Radfahrer gerade recht. Entgegenkommende Autos hingegen machen das Bild schnell zu hell und eine kontrollierte Belichtung ist schwierig.

Motiv 3

At the end of the little experiment, several cars came in a row. With a trick I was able to extend the time significantly. I just locked the lens with my hand until another car drove into the picture.

Zum Schluß des kleinen Experiments kamen dann mehrere Autos hintereinander. Durch einen Trick konnte ich die Zeit nun deutlich verlängern. Mit der Hand verschloß ich einfach das Objektiv bis ein weiteres Auto ins Bild hineinfuhr.
