Intro

This part of my report from the squadron anniversary in Neuburg is all about the big birds.

Dieser Teil meines Berichts vom Geschwaderjubiläum in Neuburg steht ganz im Zeichen der großen Vögel.

Transall C-160 and Airbus A400M

This formation will no longer be seen like this. First the old Transall followed by the new A400M. The difference in size only becomes clear in a direct comparison. My pictures show the common approach in increasing detail the closer the two get.

Diese Formation wird es so nicht mehr zu sehen geben. Vorneweg die alte betagte Transall gefolgt von der neuen A400M. Der Größenunterschied wird erst im direkten Vergleich deutlich. Meine Bilder zeigen den gemeinsamen Anflug in wachsender Detailschärfe je näher die beiden kommen.

This time I paid attention and adjusted the exposure so that the movement of the propellers can be seen. The associated longer exposure time naturally resulted in many blurred images.

Diesmal habe ich aufgepasst und die Belichtung so eingestellt dass die Bewegung der Propeller zu sehen ist. Die damit verbundene längere Belichtungszeit hatte natürlich viele unscharfe Bilder zur Folge.

After another traffic pattern, they came in one by one to float over the runway in lowest flight. As soon as they were out of sight again, the main part of the show began, which I will show in the next article.

Nach einer weiteren Platzrunde kamen sie dann einzeln herein um im Tiefstflug über die Landebahn zu schweben. Kaum waren sie dann wieder außer Sichtweite begann der Hauptteil der Show den ich im nächsten Artikel zeigen werde.
