I split the post into 2 parts, first the mountain views and then the sea.
We are blessed to live right in the middle, between the mountains and the sea.
Something different today, as I have five photos of the mountains and five photos of the sea to show you the beauty of nature. In our plans, we will be travelling up along the west coast to show you some other ocean towns and views, and after that we will travel down the coast on the opposite side towards the garden route. Then we also plan to travel slightly inland towards the Ceres area, and yeah, a lot of travelling will be taking place.
But that is all in the future and I hope that we will be able to do this.
For now, have a look what I have for you below.
And now, here below are some ocean views.
That blue and white tall building is at the beachfront, and it is our marker that tells us we are approaching the ocean. The False Bay section of the Atlantic Ocean has a beach that stretches 24 km long, and there are many small coastal towns along the stretch. Places like Betty's Bay, Pringle Bay, Rooiels, Gordon's Bay, Strand, Muizenberg, Fish Hoek, and Simon's Town. All of these little towns have long histories, and they draw many tourists to the Western Cape province. Of course, we also have the world-famous Table Mountain and the Cape Town City.
Settlers from many countries that arrived in Cape Town in the 1600's have formed a combined society of many nations. The history of South Africa started here and in later years the settlers moved up into the interior of the country. There were also many wars taking place at the time, most notably was the Anglo-Boer War between Britain and South Africa, as tons of gold was discovered in South Africa. Britain annexed South Africa as a British colony, and at a later stage South Africa became independent. First as a Union, and then the Republic of South Africa. At least that is my view of things in the past, and I cannot say that I am 100% correct about the history issue.
Such is life.
