Milos island - A Paradise on Earth

Some say it is an island of colors but more accurately It is a paradise on earth!

Milos is one of the volcanic islands of the Aegean sea, in the southern part of the Cyclades, Greece. It has about 6,000 inhabitants and 7 small towns. In the middle is a beautiful bay that gives the island the shape of a horseshoe.

It stands out with its rich history, picturesque fishing villages, amazing food and unique beaches. In 1820, the famous statue of Venus from Milos was discovered on the island. It is now displayed in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The coast of Milos has more than 40 exotic beaches. The real beauty is a magnificent Sarakiniko beach with its lunar landscape, glittering white rock formations and crystal clear turquoise waters. Kleftiko is another extremely popular beach with its high rock formations and emerald waters. It was once a pirate hideout.

The island hides a few picturesque fishing villages! Small whitewashed houses with colorful shutters and boat garages, where fishermen park their colorful boats. The villages of Klima and Firopotamos look almost unreal.
