Degraded in society but one of the essential professions in the whole world. No one will argue for sure because without them, there will be no food to fill stomachs. Though because of its reality, dirty clothing, poor appearance and most of all, a very heavy job. Instead of being thankful, most people are ungrateful and often discriminate against them. Instead of honouring them, people often underestimated them. What an unfair society.
Anyway, this time I’m going to highlight the hard work of every farmer in a specific field, and that is in a rice field. There are many processes before planting rice crops. It needs to be done step by step and day after day. And this time they were using a turtle machine, maybe because of its design that’s why they call it so. Just to be clear, this is not a tractor. Different names, it means different usages and functions.
Turtle is to make sure the soil will have the same level in a single block of a rice field. A flat level of soil in a rice field is very important in growing rice crops.
I think I wrote its functions quite some time ago so I will just be focusing on showing images. This is about a photograph for the farmers’ activities in the rice field after all.
This is not an easy job since using a turtle machine takes a longer time. From what I learned upon asking locals, forgive me in our small village we don’t have this kind of work. Obviously, I don’t have an idea about it. So yeah, a small single block of rice field will be finished using a turtle machine in a day. For the information of everyone, this machine is quite heavy. By the time the machine starts, you need to control it not to take its path randomly.
As a bystander watching these farmers who were working. I was amazed how it looked easy for them to handle the machine. Well, that means working it always, the body will be used to it.
Walking in the mud for almost a day while driving the machine is quite hard I guess. The feet will be heavy as time passes and added with the weight of the machine. What’s worse is when the sun will be so high that it feels like burning. The water just drank will be turned into a sweat for only a short time.
