One of the most fantastic trips I have done in Mexico is to visit Tulum! On this trip I got to see the Cenotes (which I shared a post about), and today I want to share with you some pictures of the Archaeological Zone of the city.

Tulum apart from having beautiful beaches with white sand and turquoise water, natural areas with jungles and Cenotes, also has an archaeological site very visited by tourists, it is located on a cliff on the seashore and was part of an ancient walled city of the Mayan civilization.

In these two photographs that I share with you above, they show the back of the most important building in the area which was the castle. This area has many restricted areas to preserve them from deterioration so we could not see the front of the castle.

Several ruined buildings, tunnels, walkways and the famous view of the sea from the back side of the castle can be seen.

In order to appreciate the tour inside and outside the archaeological zone, you pay for a package that includes both tours. First is the internal tour and then the boat tour through the back part of the zone. We took a package that cost about $20 each, which included snorkeling to see the sea turtles and corals, but we only saw fish and a manta ray, I think the turtles were still sleeping! 🤨

Honestly, it is a tour that you cannot miss if you ever visit Tulum. I think it is not necessary to tell you how beautiful the place is because the pictures tell you everything. If you want to find out more about Tulum you can find a lot of information on the web since it is a very visited place by foreign tourists.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Have a wonderful day!
