Hello friends, good vibes everyone.
Today I bring you a very entertaining post, always within this world of photography, and it is about the difference between a color photo and a black and white photo. It should be clarified that although they are the same photos, the final product is not the same because the processes to reach the final result are very different.
But what processes do I mean? - then to the editing and development of the photographs. Developing a color photo involves different steps and treatments because in these cases we touch the colors a lot, that is, saturation, luminance and intensity. On the other hand, with black and white we focus mostly on the lights and shadows.
Para entender un poco más esto les voy a mostrar unos ejemplos de fotografías a color y blanco y negro para que entiendan y vean como cambia las capturas uno vez llegado al producto final.
To understand this a little more, I am going to show you some examples of color and black and white photographs so that you understand and see how the captures change once you have reached the final product.
When we do portraits it is very important to maintain the essence of the person being photographed, in this case that essence is reflected in the gaze. If you notice it in both photos, the center of attention is the eyes and that is what has to be achieved, revealed or edited in order to take care of those details. The skin is another factor to take into account, be careful not to darken it when they go to black and white.
When we take photos of nature, although it is true that the colors are striking, we can also achieve great things if we go to black and white. Monochromatic ones have a characteristic and that is that they will always seem more dramatic than they are and that is the magic that catches my attention so much. We talk that even a horror movie can be seen.
Another natural example. It is incredible that when you see a color photo you have a certain mood that changes completely when you see a black and white counterpart. And it is exactly that change of feelings when seeing a photo that I like so much about photography, it is like a power that photographers have to play with what only we want others to see.
We landed on urban photography, the one that I like so much. The first photo, the one in color, is a photo that reflects a humble place full of green, cheerful if it can be said, a popular place of those that are in all cities. But what happens when we see the capture in black and white? - Things change, it looks like a photo taken from a documentary where what is being talked about is violence and tragedies. Or am I wrong?...
The whole subject is based on the perspective that each person gives to a certain photo. At the end of the day it is a very personal decision of each one. The photographer will always know what he is showing, the general public is the one who decides what to believe and what to see.
Quien gana la batalla? - para mi es un empate porque cada fotografía tiene su encanto y su trasfondo.
Who wins the battle? - for me it is a tie because each photograph has its charm and its background.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos vemos en la próxima!
