Spectacular Views and some Activity at Monteseel.

Monteseel is a small country-side residential area in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, West of Durban on the east coast of South Africa.

Last week I shared some views, looking out over the Valey of a Thousand Hills in this post, Enjoying the Views over the Valley of a Thousand Hills. All the images I shared in that post were taken from Monteseel.

Many Hivers also enjoyed the views and I had some very positive responses in the comments section. One Hiver really enjoyed the views...but she was concerned about the heights and the safety factor...

So, as promised, this one is especially for you, @milagroscdlrr! I promised to show you more of the area where we were moving around and how it is up to you how close you want to go to the edge. I hope you enjoy these photos tooπŸ˜‰πŸ‘.

Let's start with this photo that I took just above one of the viewpoints. I spotted the motorcycles and a car parked at the side of the road. I later found that the car belonged to one of the rock climbers enjoying the rocks. The bikers were walking around, enjoying the beautiful views over the valley.

We went a little higher before I pulled over and parked our car. This is a typical view of the road that takes you around the outskirts of Monteseel.

In the next photo, you can see the view from here that is visible to the left in the photo. You can also see the area to the side of the road from where I walked toward the edge to enjoy the view to the maximum.

In the next photo, I was looking back to where we came from. Here you can clearly see the area where I walked out toward the viewpoint.

Walking safely toward the edge on flat ground.

Getting closer to the edge. You can see that it is totally up to you how close you want to go...

You can also keep a little tree or two between yourself and the edge if it makes you more comfortable...lol!

A little lower down to my left, was where the rock climbers were busy climbing. Here, one of the more experienced climbers was keeping a watchful eye on the activity just below her.

Some family members of the climbers were relaxing in the safety of this area while the others were having fun on the rocks!

Going closer, looking at the activity of the climbers just below me.

I then followed a little footpath, taking me down the side of the rock formation where the climbers were active, taking me down to where I was just below them from where I could get some more photos of them. From here, you can also see the other family members sitting at the top (from the photo before the last one)

In my last photo for this post, you can also see the view I had from this point.

From here, I went back to my wife, where she waited for me on the flat surface at the top before we returned to our car.

So, that's it for today, folks!

Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
