Greetings Photography Lovers!

For the longest time I’ve been trying to get a good shot of the moon. I’m not sure we can call it a photographer’s dream but this has been on my list for years.
A quick google photo search shows my many…many (failed) attempts! But wherever I am, whatever I’m doing if I see a full moon I take a quick shot.

Over time I’ve realized how important your gear is. Nothing has made it clearer to me than these full moons! I realized that I’d have to use the surrounding elements to create a somewhat passable composition. This is where, water (reflection), clouds, skylines, and even trees all came into play.
They would make the pictures interesting and hide the fact the moon often looked like a little lightbulb in the sky 😂

What changed?! Well I finally got to borrow a zoom lens.
I own 2 lenses for my Canon m50 and both the kit lens and the 50mm lens just aren’t cutting it…
My evening changed dramatically when I put on the 55-250mm zoom lens!
After all these years I could finally zoom in on the moon!

Today I’m sharing some of my earlier shots, take with my phone (Currently Google Pixel 2 or LG G4 back in the day), my drone (Mavic Pro) and my canon without the zoom lens. And if you make it to the bottom, you’ll see my latest results with the zoom lens!
