Macro Photography with the added Light and Color Play
More Dandelion Shots?
After my first round of Dandelion Photography experiments, I started to have more and more Ideas about what to do with the shape and texture. To explore these ideas I wanted to test more color combinations. What you see here today is the exercise to find an appealing set. Please tell me what color combination you like the most.
Nach meiner ersten Runde mit den Pusteblumen und Löwenzahnfotografie-Experimenten hatte ich immer mehr Ideen, was ich mit der Form und Textur machen wollte sollte natürlich geübt werden. Um diese Ideen zu erkunden, wollte ich weitere Farbkombinationen testen. Was Sie heute hier sehen, ist die Übung, ein ansprechendes Set zu finden. Welche Farbkombination gefällt euch?
The Setup and Settings
Throughout this series, the settings stayed pretty much the same. The Camera was set to ISO 250 and the Sigma 105mm F2.8 was set to F13. Depending on the flashlights and the colors I used the exposure times have not been too long .. just a few seconds. That's because the Dandelion was in my vase but still started to lose its tension and started to bend with each photo I took it got more sad and eventually lost all its juice.
Die Einstellungen blieben während dieser Serie weitgehend gleich. Die Kamera war auf ISO 250 und das Sigma 105mm F2.8 auf F13 eingestellt. Abhängig von den Taschenlampen und deren Farben, waren die Belichtungszeiten nicht allzu lang, oft nur ein paar Sekunden. Das liegt daran, dass der Löwenzahn in meiner Vase stand, aber dennoch anfing sich zu verbiegen. Mit jedem Foto, das ich machte, wurde es trauriger und das immer schneller.
The important question for me was the focal point. Macros have a very shallow depth of field so it is a bit of an experiment to see where to put the focus and where to put the light. Front or center of the Dandelion was the question. In the end, I decided that I would set the focus to the center of the flower so that when I light up the rim and then the center we can look through to the inside.
Die für mich wichtige Frage war die Focusebene. Makrolinsen haben oft eine sehr geringe Schärfentiefe, daher ist es eine Art Experiment, herauszufinden, wo der Fokus und wo das Licht platziert werden muss. Vorne oder in der Mitte des Löwenzahns war die Frage. Am Ende habe ich beschlossen, den Fokus auf das Zentrum der Blume zu legen, sodass wir, wenn ich den Rand und dann die Mitte beleuchte, in das Innere blicken können.
Here you see the difference. The first image shows you nice and crisp the hair in the front whereas in the second the outer edge shows crispy hair.
Hier sehIhr mal den Unterschied. Beim ersten Photo seht Ihr vorne schön knackig schaft die Pollen, während auf dem zweiten Bild ist der äußere Rand schön scharf.
Let's mix it up with some more colors. I had some red, blue, yellow, green, orange, and purple available. So let us bring them all to the test.
Mischen wir doch mal ein paar Farben rein. Ich hatte Rot, Blau, Gelb, Grün, Orange und Lila zur Verfügung. Na dann einfach mall alle durchtesten.
The subtle Yellow and White combination is the least controversial I would say.
Die subtile Kombination aus Gelb und Weiß ist meiner Meinung nach am wenigsten umstritten.
Purple is certainly a matter of taste.
Lila ist sicherlich Geschmackssache.
With only a tiny tint of yellow on the side yet dominating white and purple I had something to explore in the image. I really liked that one when I saw it.
Mit nur einem winzigen Gelbstich an der Seite, dennoch von Weiß und Lila dominiert fand ich die Komposition wirklich interessant. Da konnte man zweimal hinschauen.
Here is a similar approach. Just a tiny bit of blue, white, and from the bottom some yellow. It was tricky to apply the colors in this way but with trail and error I found a good way to do it.
Hier ist ein ähnlicher Ansatz. Nur ein kleines bisschen Blau, Weiß und von unten etwas Gelb. Es war schwerer als ich erst dachte. Mit ein bisschen Übung fand ich einen guten Ansatz wie es geht.
Closer Look
Now you get to see what comes when you go closer. Once I had my technique working I got more brave. Going back to perfect the yellow and white with having the outer edges in white and the core in yellow.
Jetzt noch mal bisschen reinzoomen! Als ich die Technik im Griff hatte wurde ich mutiger. Dann gabs nochmal Gelb und Weiß zum perfektionieren der Komposition, indem Ich die Außenkanten in Weiß und den Kern in Gelb einleuchtete.
Then just ad blue and it mixes with the yellow and creates some purple.
Dann gab ich einfach Blau hinzu und das vermischte sich mit dem Gelb und erzeugte den Lilaeffekt.
Branzilion
The yellow and green combo made me think of the Brazilian flag. Loved it more than anticipated.
Die Kombination aus Gelb und Grün ließ mich an die brasilianische Flagge denken. Cooler als ich dachte!
