Hidden Gem , Sheep's Waterfall

There are so many waterfalls in Iceland, that no one knows the exact number. Some are absolutely huge and some are small cascading style. Some are famous and many are hidden in nature. Many are named but even more are nameless. This one here is a hidden gem on Snaefells peninsula. The name is Selvallafoss but it's better known as Sheep's waterfall, don't ask why.

This is a hidden gem because when you search for attractions there you need to really dig deep into some pages to recommend this waterfall. It sits in the middle of the peninsula and isn't far from a road that goes nearby but it's not visible from the road so you need to know about it. It is about a 700m walk away from the road.

You can actually walk behind this waterfall.

Surrounding this waterfall is a lava-shaped landscape. See this lake in the photo below? It used to be a usually shaped lake but at some point, lava has flown into this lake, and it's clearly visible.
